Video output on iPhone 4 Question

I bought Apple's component cables only to find out that they only output 480p. Anybody know if hacking the phone to output a higher resolution is possible? Or is it limited by hardware?

The vga adapter outputs 768 but with no audio, right?

Idk how to fix this, but thanks for posting this i was gonna buy the cables this week. But I guess not if they aren't outputting hd videos.

I have netflix!
What about if the movie is in hd?
Does it make a difference?
