Altering Microphone volume on native Phone App? (iPhone 4)

I have an iPhone 4 and experience terrible feedback or ambient noise being pumped into my earbuds from the noise cancelation microphone. Apple store confirmed this is a software issue as all of the other phones in the apple store exhibited the same "defect"

It has been several months now, and no fix from apple! Big surprise! So I am turning to this community to see if there is a file I can mod which can alter the in call microphone settings when a headset is being used.

I believe this is a specific issue related to the phone app since I cannot replicate this using Skype.


Any ideas?

agreed I even have winterboard volume boost and it is still too low.

bump! anyone know what files I should look at? I'm willing to figure it out... just need a finger in the right direction. Thanks!
