Thread: adjusting volume limits FM1.0.2

  1. #1
    Smile adjusting volume limits FM1.0.2
    I notice the following:

    File Name: com.apple.celestial.plist

    contents:

    <key>volumeLimits</key>
    <dict>
    <key>Headphone</key>
    <real>1</real>
    <key>Headset</key>
    <real>1</real>
    </dict>
    <key>volumes</key>
    <dict>
    <key>Headphone</key>
    <dict>
    <key>Audio/Video</key>
    <real>1</real>
    </dict>
    <key>Headset</key>
    <dict>
    <key>Audio/Video</key>
    <real>0.875</real>
    <key>PhoneCall</key>
    <real>0.875</real>
    </dict>
    <key>HeadsetBT~00:00:00:00:00:00</key>
    <dict>
    <key>PhoneCall</key>
    <real>1</real>
    </dict>
    <key>Receiver</key>
    <dict>
    <key>PhoneCall</key>
    <real>0.875</real>
    </dict>
    <key>Speaker</key>
    <dict>
    <key>Audio/Video</key>
    <real>1</real>
    </dict>
    <key>broadcast</key>
    <dict>
    <key>Ringtone</key>
    <real>0.0</real>
    </dict>
    </dict>

    I have already increase the numbers (max 1) from the default. Apple has placed volume limits on every audio out. I can confirm that after the change the phone audio output and the bt output is louder.

    this was a simple change for them in FW 1.1.1

    can you upload your version of com.apple.celestial.plist for the windows users

  3. #3
    the only issue with that is the BT enumerator would be set to my headset. I could set it to zeros but the plist would have to be edited again for a new BT headset.

    Download jEdit (google it). It's free and it will allow you to open and edit this file.

    i used CYBER DUCK and heres the location

    /private/var/root>preferences..

    im going to play with this now and ill see if i can increase the volume...

  8. #8
    Would it still be alright for us non BT Headset users to use your edited file?

  9. #9
    but does the increased volume become unclear or is it better?

    soda

  10. #10
    I believe that this file contains volume limits for each device. it does not apmlify the sound.

    I can upload it but I don't know how. can someone point me to the right direction?

    Hi all,

    In my iphone, the com.apple.celestial.plist file doesnt exist in - /private/var/root>preferences ,

    but after searching around a bit, i found it in -

    /private/var/root/Library/Preferences/ com.apple.celestial.plist

    in this file the following are the only entries -

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    <key>volumes</key>
    <dict>
    <key>Receiver</key>
    <dict>
    <key>PhoneCall</key>
    <real>1</real>
    </dict>
    <key>Speaker</key>
    <dict>
    <key>Audio/Video</key>
    <real>1</real>
    </dict>
    <key>broadcast</key>
    <dict>
    <key>Ringtone</key>
    <real>1</real>
    </dict>
    </dict>
    </dict>
    </plist>

    so does this mean that my settings are already to full volume?
    please help, thanks!

    I have set the volume limitation on the headphone and headset to 1 (original is 0.826872). I think this is what apple did in the 1.1.1 update. Now you got it for 1.0.2. download the file here: http://www.modmyi.com/forums/downloa...do=file&id=924

    I wasn't allowed access. Does this mean that approval is still pending or that it wasn't approved?

    Has anyone been successful with this mod? And has there been an actual improvement with out any problems?
    As I see it, unless we each conform, unless we obey orders, unless we follow our leaders blindly, there is no possiable way we can remain free.
