Iphone Voice Memo Length/Limit??

So today I was is in class hoping to record my three hour lecture. At the end of class, I look at my iPhone and see that my Voice memo stopped short at: 2:24:03 which was 74.2 MB @66kbits

When I got home, I ran another test to see how long voice memos would run and the results: 2:36:37 which was also 74.2 MB @76kbits

I looked at my storage capacity on my first gen, and I found out that I still have 3.21 GB left of FREE space.

So what is up with this? Why does my voice memos just 'shut off' when it reaches 74.2 MB?

Is there anyway I can 'mod' the application to make it last longer?

Any help would be greatly welcomed.

Just download another 3rd party recorder from the app store or cydia...I'm sure there has to be at least a few of them. Search "recorder"
