Default Change Docked Icon Text Position

Some of you may have noticed that on iOS 4 the text position for docked icon labels has changed and has moved up a bit. I am just wondering if there is any way to do this on iOS 3.1.2. I am trying to get 3.1.2 to look similar to iOS 4 and this is one of the things that I can't manage to get. Also, I don't want to use WinterBoard. Here is a picture so you can understand better what I am trying to say:

Notice how my screenshot (The one on the right) has docked icon labels that are lower than those on the left.

Maybe in the Springboard.plist file with iFile or OpenSSH.

Note that it wasn't even possible on 3.x, since the margin cuts off before the text gets close to the icon.
