Default SMS.db doesnt work on ios4...

I always save my sms.db files when i upgrade so i dont have to do a complete backup on itunes.
But when i did it from 3.1.2 to 4.0 it shows the messages fine but sms app crashes when i go to send a text i also dont receive texts.

Can someone help i had over 2 years of text in there. Thanks

I have the same thing with my sms.db, first time the sms app was crashing all the time when trying to send.
After a restore it was working. However when I tried send a MMS the first time, somehow the very first message I ever received was sent back to the sender halfway through the sending process. The MMS sending just hung endlessly.
Then I restored another time and tried it again, same thing happened. I then removed the sms.db and put back the original empty one and voila, everything suddenly worked. How weird is that?
Also missing my old messages now.

When I upgraded and jb'ed the phone of a friend of mine I tried the same thing. He however has no problems at all with his sms.db.
    Very strange...

i believe you just have to change the permissions on the files

    generally the permission is 0644

I had no problem migrating the SMS.db when I went from 3.1.3 to 4.0.
