Could any of you guys inform me if this method suggested by Musclenerd could work for firmware 4.0 to prevent the baseband to update? I would like to install firmware 4.0 on my iPhone 3g but I am unable to because I am afraid of messing with my unlock as I have a us carrier locked phone and I live in Greece. Please share your knowledge

Nope, as far as we know the 3.x.x baseband is NOT compatible with 4.0. Dont update and just wait for the dev team/geohot to release an unlock (if there is an exploit) or buy a rebel sim when a 4.0 compatible one is released. The gates in my computer are AND, OR and NOT; they are not Bill.
