I am in dire need of help.
I have a 3GS jailbroken and unlocked on T-Mobile running 3.12
I wanted to return my iPhone back to as stock as possible without restoring. So i unistalled everything I had in Cydia and then I decided to reset all of my settings because I didn't want to lose any of my data so I pressed "Reset Settings". Now I'm stuck in an endless boot where the Apple logo comes on the screen with the little update bar thing underneath it and when the bar fills up, the phone reboots itself. Then just the regular boot screen comes on and it stays there until it reboots itself back to the screen with the update bar. And back and forth, back and forth.
Is there anything I can do that will avoid me having to restore?
And if I do have to restore, would it be possible to backup all of my data on the device?
this is the third time I've had to restore, but this is the first time my iPhone won't be able to be unlocked. I think it is time for me to sign a contract with AT&T...
read it wrong.
so yea itll work. if it does have old bootrom ,
u need to get a custom 3.1.2 firmware and shift restore to that.
heres how to enter dfu mode:
I got my 3GS in September and I haven't plugged it into iTunes since the day I unlocked it with blackra1n. I know it has the good jailbreak (idk which one is which) but I don't have to run blackra1n everytime I turn my phone on.
so what I have to do is put it into DFU, then put the custom ipsw using the shift button (I've done it before).
Will I be able to back up my data this way?
Even if i can't I'll still be happy I can actually use the phone part of my iPHONE!
U have the old bootrom. So ya get a custom firmware and restore to it. And if it works ull be able to use the "phone" part of it. Cause ull be able to unlock it
