Hey all... I was wondering how you would do this. I'm trying to make a kind of simplified whitoken theme that doesn't rely on categories (excessive load time), a side bar, or complicated springjumps tweaking. Basically my dock will have jump icons for 1)home 2)utilities 3)media 4)games and the phone. I'm going to be making a wallpaper image that appears to "fit around" the icons, which will be text bubbles.
Anyway the problem I'm running into is I'm trying to make a header to go at the top of each page (home, utilities, media, games). I don't know of any way to make a custom wallpaper for each page, and I figured the easiest way would be create a "dummy" icon that doesn't do anything when tapped, but I could obviously change its .png to the header image for that page.
You can create a custom wallpaper for each page of your springboard now by labeling them page01, page02, etc. There is a thread or two around here that goes into more detail.
OK.. I decided I want my wallpaper to transition between 2 images. I'll be using bosspaper for that. Hence, I won't be able to use winterboard page01, page02 to accomplish what I'm looking for.
At this point, as far as I understand, my only solution is using an iBlank icon as a header for each page (Apps, Games, etc) I know how to set up the layout with iconoclasm, but am stuck on how to change the .png for the iBlank icons. They don't have a name, so I don't know what icon name to give the icons I will be creating so that it changes to the graphic I want.
I was wondering what would happen if I made my own folder to add to the "applications" section when I SSH into my phone. Maybe I could create a null folder with the exception of the icon.png... anybody know how to do that?? or how to change the images of blank icons made from iBlank?
Looks like I can use page01, page02 which would simply be the headers ONLY over a transparent 320X480, then bosspapers would do the rest of the interchanging backgrounds for me... I'll give it a shot and reply if it works or not.
Alright... worked like an absolute charm!
I used bosspaper to transition my two images (dock shelves with neon green and blue lips), and enabled "UNDER WINTERBOARD"
Then went into winterboard and made a theme that had a 320X480 with transparent background. The top part of the image which I wanted to save is where it should be in relation to the area of the screen i want it. Plan worked perfectly and yes it does work..
thanks again for the info all!
