Keeping springboard status bar in all apps
SBDefaultStatusBarModeKey must be the key!
I have found that the status bar switching from default_bg to fso_bg is controlled by the SBDefaultStatusBarModeKey in the file /var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.springboard.displaystate.plist
I have changed the integer to 2 and get exactly what I'm looking for, the status bar to remain unchanged when going from springboard to safari or settings apps. *It works perfectly until the app is closed, then reverts back to the original switching back and forth. The modifications I made to the file are all changed back as well to how they where originally. *I assume I'm not the only one to ever try and change this, it's especially annoying when using dark themes and having that one 'sore' spot that I cannot change.**

i tried what you post with no avail. same results as you...maybe if we remove the gray status bar image and turn all the status bar images into default from FSO maybe it might work? and change the integers to 2...im tempted to try... what do you think?

That was what I thought as well, renamed/replaced about 70 images from FSO to defaut which does give most of the results desired. The part that is still off is the clock and, in my case, weathericon temp.
One thing I noticed is that my notes app never reverted to 0, it still shows exactly as I want it to be

Clock doesn't dissapear it turns to the black text, ther must be shading on the outside tho so you can still see it, I'll post screenshots and the fso files renamed as soon as I get to my computer.

ok awesome, my first thought to fix the text issue is go to cydia download hot pink status bar, that changes the time and date to pink but after download extract it from stash/themes.***** and edit it, then replace it in the theme folder. it kinda sucks that to have visible time and date you have to rely on cydia but that my first thought, unless you have another idea? thanks alot

Really not sure where to go from here but that sounds more promising than the suggestions from everyone else in the community! Here is the snapshot of how it looks when the FSO files are renamed to the Default files as well as the FSO renamed as default files.

End goal
Just in case anyone cares to know exactly what I'm looking for it is included right here. Everything except the notes reverts to the default style after the app has opened one time.

quick question are all these files from springboard.app? or are their other places they need to be replaced?

All from springboard app.
also I found this forum regarding the same thing but apparently I am not smart enough to figure out how to add 4 seemingly simple lines of text to the damn file, check it out and let me know if you can figure it out.

ok so the link you posted is not working no matter what i cannot get that command to save into the .plist. but i figured something out...to get the status bar to stay black for everything go to...system/library/coreservices/springboard.app and open "DefaultApplicationState.plist" and make all the SBDefaultStatusBarModeKey integers "2" some of them are 104 try them all at 2 i tried everything at 104 and 1 and 0 when i did 1 and 0 i had keyboard malfunction with quickreply. let me know if you what happens
check this out might be helpful i know its for SDK but could lead to something...[ame=http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=549477]Change Status Bar to Black? - Mac Forums[/ame]Last edited by MikeT674; 01-12-2010 at 01:49 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Not a damn one ATM, only thing I canthink is it will have to be controlled from plists. I wish I knew what was making the displaystate plist revert back to the original one.

So I have been messing with the solid statusbar and the "fixed" version as well, cannot get either to work properly. I have had some success using the code from the link above though. If you add it to the info.plist of every app it seems to take, only ones that don't seem to are apples apps. I think I could actually make this work by the method of swapping out the fso images for the default ones now that I know how to controll the color of the clock, only thing is the clock looks terrible when you do this, check it out, let me know if you have any other ideas.
