My iPhone 2g stopped working

I have a new 2g that had version 3.0 and when I connected to iTunes it upgraded to version 3.1 and now does not recognize my SIM card. It worked for abuot 24 hours and stopped. Can someone help me with what I need to do. I use Tmobile and they told me to go to this site but I have no idea what to do next.

you have to downgrade back to 3.0 jailbreak and unlock i'm not sure if there is an unlock yet for 3.1 but for the 2g i think there is a jailbreak but unfortunately you need the unlock also i'll see if i have me .ipsw that unlocked the 2g on 3.0 but i think i deleted it cause i dont' need unlock

also though i dont remember if i read correctly somewhere on this site if the 2g and 3g can downgrade to 3.0 just the 3gs cant i'm not sure
