You can use Customize from Cydia to install a tailored sound (manipulate the volume of the file in a PC/MAC prog)

there is also a volume boost tweak on cydia that allows your phone to put out sounds past the apples factory limit.
im not sure if its just for the ipod feature or not, but you could give it a look
