Your Own Video in Photos

I've been messing around all day trying to get a video, Example: Music Video, onto my iphone to watch and clip via the Photos.app. All you have to do is convert the video to .3gp or .mp4 and rename it something along the lines of IMG_0128.MOV and drop it in /var/mobile/Media/DCIM/100APPLE. You now have your own video where you can trim it and email it or whatever you like. This is on a 3g and 3.1 JB.

First you have to either record it in cycorder or use my method to ssh it into photos. Search for VideoEdit Toggle.

not on 3.1, it's enabled if you download a video from your email. no toggle needed!

SB Toggle:

I did a modification to VideoToggle, which copies movies from Yourtube, iphonevideorecorder and cycorder to the Gallery where you can edit it.

here's it:

so what is it that this does exactly? is it the same thing as the last toggle that leaves our camera.app useless until we disable it? or is it simply a switch to move everything from cycorder to the photos.app

just moves vidos from these apps to the Apple-Folder, no changes to the camera etc. so theres also no respring needed.

Hey, so I downloaded this toggle from Cydia and let me just say that it's awesome and much easier and reliable than the original Video Toggle as in it works. Correct me if I'm wrong but everytime you want to move new Cycoder videos to the Photos app you need to hit the toggle again, right? At least that was my experience. It's also not compatible with the photoshare extension which would be awesome to have but I don't even know if it's possible. Also, I haven't tried syncing this but I'm sure it'll work. Super cool work man, I'm interested to see where this goes.

can't send any videos though :-( not even got the option to?

Any ideas?

This was already discussed in the "Enable Video Recording on 2G/3G" thread

It works only with 3.1 firmware (because video trimming is included in it) and it works only when you name your video with similar name of the photo, so the photo app will recognise it (IMG_XXXX - for X it may be any nuber) and for video recording it is preferred iPhone Video Recorder 3.0

it would have been nice to see that earlier, since no one ever said anything about it being 3.1 exclusive.
