I need your help. WTF can the adressbook be found in the file system.

used iphone: 3G
firmware: 3.0
jailbreaked

I want to make a hardreset of my iphone and keep/make a backup of my adressbook without using itunes or another sync tool. what i am looking for is the real path of the adressbook-file...

should be 2 folders in there.

is there a way to read/edit the file?

...after hardreset and new jailbreak, a copybacktoiphone should be possible, right?

Never tried it but perhaps you may be able to in Terminal or perhaps Note Pad may work, but just not sure.

Guess my question would be why not just edit in the phone. Perhaps I don't understand what your trying to do.

have you tried anything like Notepad++? it might work because in regular notepad i can see scattered names, email addresses, phone numbers, ect. Its just that theres a lot of unrecognized cheracters that i bet the ++ could pick up

yep... notepad is giving a "scripted" crap... nothing i can read... i just don,t have a clue what could help...
