thx did it but the way you explain it does not work right, u say to copy the folder then make a backup (so have 2 on pc) then mod 1 folder and ssh it back on, but then the deleted plists are still gonna be there, so I had to delete them from within the iPhone.
And I have not noticed what so ever any speed up on my 3GS if anything I feel it slowed it down, especially when unlocking the icons take longer to build (form) I would not recommend this for 3GS owners.

"only" 45? thats pretty good dude. the only other thing you could do is delete apps like winterboard, or sbsettings.

Would someone mind telling me what this speeds up exactly?Like speeding up app launching and loading times?Internet loading time?Downloading time? What gets sped up,and what happens. That's what I want to know.

Decided to restore my phone.
GPS was not working for some reasons so thought maybe I deleted a daemon which I shouldn't have.
After restoring, GPS works again.
Anyway, this time I only used the script and that's it.
Didn't delete any daemons.
EDIT
Ok, I just couldn't resist. I also deleted some daemons, but only from the safe ones. Especially those "CrashReporters".

good question. id like to know that too. however, im using sb settings, and get up to 53 mg free on my 3g after deleting all of the safe launchdaemons, and without deleting any .lprojs
btw, this is without winterboard.

I think the most I've ever gotten on my 3G is 58mb.
This is WITH winterboard but no MAJOR themes.
SBSettings.
used SBS to end all processes & free up memory.
With language packs deleted.I always feel sorry for the guy in the iPhone commercials. He always gets a call right in the middle of trying to do something

Is this safe for an iPod Touch 2G?Also,what would be a good amount of mb to have for it?Lastly, how are language packs deleted?Like SSHing into your apps, and deleting all the un-necassary language packs?

K.What about deleting language packs? How would I do that? Also, where are they stored?Does it mean the language folders included in apps? The .lproj files.

Depends on the program you're using.
Usually, right click on the file, go to preferences (i think), and down at the bottom there are numbers like 777 or 755, just change it to whatever it needs to be

Well I followed the instructions for both the language files and the daemons. No real memory change from what I had before (around 40-50MB after freeing memory with SBSettings) but apps and games seem to be loading faster than usual on my 3G (Snapture and Cycorder are noticeably faster loading).

Mine 3g went from 54mb free before to 51mb free after. That makes no sense..

Is this guide noob friendly?Lol,I asked some people and they told me a certain amount of knowledge of this is something I should have, and I don't have that knowledge.I can understand the instructions fine.I've seen the terminal command posted on another site.I "get" it.But I needed to look up the command.I didn't just go and say "Hey,I'll put in this!".Should I be messing around with this? Also,do you delete or disable the daemons?
