ok... now that i have done this and the LP's. must say, thou you wouldnt think, and you wouldnt really see it, (meaning i dont think it cleared up a ton of ram) these two things do make the phone snappier!

ill test tonight and see if it was worth it... so far so good. i free up and i have about 47 megs. before i was sitting at 36-39
Nice to hear!
I can't wait till I get my new iPhone off eBay in a couple of days time! So wanna do this.

how can i fix this without a restore?? if i could SSH in i'd be fine, but since its not fully booted up its not letting me.

yes im a dumbass i know, but is there a way to fix this?? i dont wanna have to restore/rejailbreak all over again
Sorry to say, but there isn't really a way to fix this, other than restoring. Be careful next time, if there is gonna be a next time.

Dont forget to share your results with us!

I copied LaunchDaemons file to my computer for a backup but instead of deleting the files from the iPhone i just renamed them with i file( put a 1 in front of the file names) and that way i can put them back into use if i need to. Oh and im getting 167MB of free ram now (3GS). But without the daemons running in the background it also frees up the proc to run a little faster. Will deleting language files help a lot? From what i have read it is best to only delete the ones from the applications files. Is that true?

Just do the application ones first, then see how it is.
If you feel confident enough, do all of them.

So you are saying not even 1MB has increased in your case?
Did you also reboot the phone BEFORE and AFTER to compare the results?

On a side note, you have a 3GS. You might not notice a dramatic speed up but I'm sure us 2G/3G users will.

well, i did this and the language packs, and noticed a huge improvement in performance. then today i turned it off for school ( i know, who turns their phone off for school?) anyway, i did, and i turned it back on, it boots, goes to a black screen, then tries to boot all over again after a few minutes. i guess i deleted something i shouldnt have, but after replacing the launchdaemons folder with my backup, still the same problem. that must mean i deleted a .lproj i shouldnt have. guess its time for a restore.... really wish i didnt have to do this.
