It was still running after the synch - the value for shutdown is "false"
Yes I rebooted and the daemon is not running at all. Gonna check on and after next synch, so far I gained 10MB

After reboot you need to do a respring, than the bastard is gone

I still can't understand you. If you spelled correctly then I might understand, but right now I don't.
Why are you syncing? What are you talking about shutdown? there is no such value. there is successfulexit value, but I don't know what you are talking about.

And you can get rid of the daemon and not having it come back every 14 secs.

Set the value from false to true, and everytime you connect your iphone to a powersource open the com.apple.itunesstored.plist in ifile and close it. Daemon is gone till the next respring (if you are connected) if you are not it stays off.

Ok, I did not have the same results as you regarding the editing of the .plist. But I am still confused as to why you are opening the .plist in ifile? All iFile does is give you access to all of the idevice's contents, not run the daemons you open within it.
Whatever. I'm glad that we both found something that works for each of us.

The storage line is how much disk space you have left on the root partition (/). The only thing that will really affect it is installing apps from Cydia and 200mb should be plenty. I ran mine for months with only 14mb. If you really want more, run this command in mobileterminal:
mv /System/Library/Fonts /private/var/ && ln -s /private/var/Fonts /System/Library/Fonts

That will move fonts from your root partition to the /var partition and create links to their new location. It should free up about 100mb on root, but it will take up 100mb on /var.

Did you run it as root and, if youre checking space with SBSettings, you probably need to respring for it to notice the change. I cant imagine why it wont work, its one if the most basic commands on the system.

I got bored and wrote a script that will walk people through disabling the "Safe", "Conditional" and "Jailbreak" daemons. It lists them one by one with jdys_1991's description and asks if you want to disable it and they are disabled by moving them to /var/mobile/LaunchDaemonsBackup. Don't know if anyone will find it useful, I was just bored. Heck, I copied half of it from my language pack script so I was bored and lazy. here ya go

(EDIT: I did some very minor editing to the script to clean up one command and change a couple words of text. It still functions exactly the same, it's just slightly cleaner.)

I just tried to use this script and I get a bad interpreter error. Do you know what the problem is? I used your other script to remove languages without a problem.

I got it to work by using the copy and paste and ifile to create the script file. I guess it doesn't work using notepad from my job's windows machine.

i tried again , it worked , i freed 100mb on storage but it took up 600mb ob var :/ is this supposed to happen?

You can go into here:

/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/IAP.framework/voices

and delete everything except for:

folder - attaboy_lance_0000_voi
folder - attaboy_paula_0000_voi
folder - sports_female_0000_voi
folder - sports_male_0000_voi
attaboy_lance_0000_voi.xml
attaboy_paula_0000_voi.xml
sports_female_0000_voi.xml
sports_male_0000_voi.xml

This deletes 1,672 files and frees up 22mb.

The deleted files all pertain to languages other than US English.



****NOTE: THIS IS FOR U.S. ENGLISH AS I BELIEVE THERE WERE EN_GB FILES TOO****

You can also go to

/private/var/stash/Applications.CB50ha/MobileSafari.app

And delete all "StaticBookmarks" files that don't apply to you.

I am in the U.S. so I only kept:

StaticBookmarks-en_US.plist

This deletes another 120 files, though of negligible size (totals not even 50kb I believe)

i respring and and reboot with 62mb ram. after remove all .lproj except English remove all unnecessary launch daemon and i have VM installed. ive also combed through the file system and deleted random files that are useless. havent had an issue yet.

I am part of a team working on a project that will allow us to load a custom lite iPhone os. The custom os at this point called LiteOS is a modified apple firmware with certain extras like unneeded language packs removed. As of right now there is a beta working on 2nd gen. ipod touch (non-mc) devices and we are able to inject a custom loader into an apple ipsw image!
