Creating/editing plist

Hey guys, I was just curious on if there was a tutorial anywhere to explain what a plist is or what it does, or what to look for in it? I've been trying to move the badge icons down from their normal popup spot, and also am trying to change the location in which the screen reads that an icon is being touched. Is this possible with a plist??

Here is all the stuff you can do in the Info.plist in the main folder of your theme. I've heard people say you can change the area for the badges, but I don't yet know how to do it.
