1. Download program called WinSCP...and then connect your iPhone to computer and start up WinSCP
2. When it runs, input the following:
Hostname: <ip address> of your iphone
(can be found in Settings>Wi-Fi>clicking blue arrow next to network its connected to)
Username: root
Password: alpine
3. Then hit Login and wait a while...it might say host not responding buts thats fine, soon a private key file message will appear where you would hit the positive answer (sry forgot the options!)
4.And now that you can "SSH"...SSH into iPhone and in the folder 'media', create/open a folder calles 'ROMS' then within that folder create/open another called 'NES' (names are case-sensitive!)
[/private/var/mobile/Media/ROMS/NES]
Thats where you would drag/drop the roms...
If I've helped..u know wut 2 do!

iPhoneBrowser works also, make sure you get the newest version. I just used it a week ago to do this same thing. I believe when you create the folder ROMs the s isn't capital though.
Not sure if it works on 3GS though.

Am i missing something? I keep seeing peeps using tunnel and Winscp. Is there something I don't see there because iphonebrowser does everything thing that I can think of on the iphone. I've used the other apps, but using addresses and loging in w/passwords just seem to be a waste of time to me.
Please explain..

iphonebrowser doesnt do permissions
and you cant run terminal from it. i use iphonebrowser alot but now use isutal tools more than anything. you can write a script to enter in the username and password so it becomes just as easy as iphonebrowser

what was the need to comment on what everyone enjoys using--if u like using iPhoneBrowser than thats fine! I enjoy using WinSCP because it has lot more advanced options but occasionly I use iPhonebrowser too...I actually dont prefer anything specific as long as I get my job done

Plus I wasnt sure what exactly he uses as an ssh client so I just mentioned that...however its upto the user!
