can't get the tethering menu on my 2g even after carrier update for mms

I tried troubleshooting this with SpookyET but he's not a 2g guy, so I need help figuring out why everyone but me seems to have tethering menu under the settings>general>network menu. I'd like to have this activated. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. I have the full internet package with tmobile. using epc.tmobile.com as my APN, MMS is working great, but I can't get the tethering menu to appear.

I don't have it, and I don't know any 2g people with it. I thought it was something the dev team was going to tackle.

Hmm... I was under the impression that it could be enabled by default when we upgraded the carrier package from SpookyET and ironicirony. Am I incorrect in that assumption, is it only 3g users who get that by default? If so... that's interesting, and a problem to be fixed.
