Default SSH Iphone 2G OS 3

I just updated to OS3 however i cant seem to ssh into my iphone anymore.

I installed openssh and bossprefs and enabled ssh and tried to connect via filezilla using SFTP with root and alpine as the password... but no luck says connection refused.

im guessing there is some change to the method.any ideas ??

    thanks

I had a similar problem, this is what i did to resolve it, hopefully it helps for you.

    reboot phone
    uninsall open ssh
    reboot phone
    install openssh

Yeah, works fine on my 2g 3.0. Maybe it's a permissions issue? May be a silly question but did you try rebooting the phone after installation? I think there is a toggle in bossprefs as to whether SSH should be on or off after a reboot. Maybe that toggle got toggled?

It could also be that when you SSH on 2.x and update to 3.0 you have to delete the profiles before being able to SSH on 3.0

Did you go through the Cydia OpenSSH setup instructions and run the Terminal commands and whatnot to allow access from your computer?

What the heck are those? I've never had to run terminal commands to get SSH working.

Maybe it's different on a PC. On Mac you have to run ssh root@<ip address>. That then generates keys between the computer and the iPhone. Once this is done, I can get in without hassle.

This only applies if you are using terminal as your ssh client, I use cyberduck, which is free and easy and it generates those keys for you when you try to connect. I also am having trouble getting into my phone now since I upgraded to 3.0. Worked perfectly before 3.0, did a clean restore on the upgrade and now I'm locked out :/.

I've actually stop using SSH as I find PhoneView easier and quicker.
Until the next time… And if I help you out, give me a "Thanks!" Thanks!

Here's the solution if u're on windows.

Get iPhone Tunnel Suite - Download program iPhone Tunnel Suite by iMakkie

Since the released of Firmware 3.0, the inability to connect to SSH using the USB cable with iPhone Tunnel Suite. To solve this issue, follow these simple steps:

    1. Make sure you install OpenSSH via Cydia .
    2. iTunes 8.2 installed.
    3. Copy iTunesMobileDevice.dll from CProgram Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\. Make a backup copy before you do anything.
    4. Now go to CProgram Files\iPhone Tunnel Suite 2.7 BETA\iTunnel\ and paste the file "iTunesMobileDevice.dll".
    5. Done. You're able to SSH using USB.
