probablt bcuz all those features are written for the ARM9 architecture, and it can detect that it is not a ARM9 but rather ARM6
which would make sense in why apple made a firmware specifically for the 3GS with those features while all other firmwares have 3.0 but those features omitted....

There are many applications in the App Store that already support voice recognition. Any chance a script can be written or taken from one of those for voice control?

Guise all the apps that feature voice recognition that works on the 3G, all the processing is done on their own servers.
For example, the Google app doesn't do the processing in the app, it's sent to Google's server where it's processed and search results are generated.

Its a good idea, but it wouldn't be very feasible I'm afraid. Apart from the processing power and costs involved, using an external server would possess big security flaws; whereas Google's voice control just produces Google search queries, this app would have to remotely access the iPhone and issue commands. Therefore all processing will need to done on the iPhone, and I am confident that the 3G will be able to handle it.

We simply adjust the app "Vocalia 2.0" so it looks like from the 3GS.
Then we invite the "Custom Home" from Cydia and now if the Home button double-clicked will invite our Vocalia Voice AppMy Setup:

That's the BS solution. That's what we should do if we can't get it working. It looked like we were getting close to porting the app yesterday, before people started trying to run 3GS firmware on a 3G. We need to stop screwing with firmware, stop looking for alternate apps, and focus on the porting strategy from yesterday morning.
