Voice Control...on 3GS only or 3.0 OS?

Well we've pretty much established that the hardware can handle it. The problem is that voice control's software was compiled for the new processor in the 3GS. Hopefully we can get it running on the older processors. Btw, (to everyone else) any luck overclocking the CPUs to 600mhz?

i think we're almost there. but we really need the com.apple.voiceover.enabled.launchd file.

Apple had also overclocked the 3G with OS 2.0 from 400 MHz to 412 MHz, so it must be possible

Installing the 3GS firmware on the 3G doesn't solve the processor issue, unless you've already tackled that getting the fw to work in the first place. However, at that point, is it even worth it? I mean, it looks like we're getting close, but if all else fails, maybe a MobileSubstrate plugin would work?

We must Edit the Firmware Files .. (.dmg files) an the Plist.

That iTunes mean is was an 3G Firmware and not an 3GS Firmware

Okay ... ;-) But in other Forums the user says "com.apple.voiceover.enabled.launchd" does not exist

i did some funny things:
Copied to /private/var] from the iphone 3GS to Iphone 3G and my phone is still working. :P
i think im gonna work on getting the 3GS firmware to the 3G.

Yes :-)

So, i have Downloaded the 3G 3.0 Firmware, and the 3GS 3.0 Firmware
Now i have it Exctrated and Edit now the Plist Files.

Update1: In The 3G Firmware is an Plist Names "BuildManifesto" in the 3GS it is called "BuildManifest"
I Edit now all Plist Files

Update 2: Ok i have Created an Firmware with the Files from The 3GS and the plist from the 3G .. iTunes Restored my iphone, but shortly after beginning the Restore, my iTunes says me "Error 14" .. in DFU mode, Same Error 14

I think it is possible the 3Gs Firmware on The 3G to install

ok guys,
im gonna decrypt the iphone 3g fimware and put all iphone 3gs content in the Decrypted.dmg change the name of the Decypted.dmg to the name of the original .dmg file and lets see if it works.

Sweet. But if it does, would that be the end all, or would it be worth continuing to port the voice control alone?
Edit: For instance, a basic app distributed thru Cydia enabling voice control would be amazing.
Edit 2: Well, not enabling. Rly just the ported .app, associated files, and installer of some sort.

No, I was suggesting that we continue to try porting voice control, and, if we get it working, we should make an installer and distribute it thru cydia.

ok im getting my other friend to get that file from his 3gs. i made sure he used accessibility and voice control before uploading it. i will also check the file before i post it here to make sure it isnt empty. cuz my hunch is if it's empty again, its not what we are looking for.
Edit 1: He said there was no file named that in there.

And to all those trying to make the 3GS firmware work on older versions, it wont simply work by changing the values in the BuildManifest.plist, Restore.plist and the dmgs itself because the entire filesystem is correlating to the N88OS filesystem and the 3GS kernelchache file is 8920x while the 2G/3G is 8900x...it would require much of hex-editing, which I have done and got to about 15% when an error occurred (14)

it seems that in order to enable this and to make it work correctly, Accessibilities is also needed, as both relate to each other
