Here's what I did:

1. Add http://fishbone.ge into your Cydia sources
2. Scroll down to Volume Boost for 3.0 package
3. Install
4. Close Cydia
5. Reboot (habit of mine)

6. Enjoy

Edit: The difference is definately noticable.

I modified the file via ssh. Dumb question: do I still need Volume Boost 3.0 in winterboard or can I uninstall it?

p.s. I didn't notice a difference in volume with Volume Boost 3.0 checked in winterboard.

Volume Boost 3.0 is no longer in their respitory I've SSH'd and change the plist file (didn't work), I tried using the one that runs off of Winterboard (didn't work), and now I am lost. My 2G is sooooooo faint for the ear piece volume. I cannot even hear someone while having my windows down going 25MPH in a car.

Using iPhone 3G 3.1.2.
The speaker volume while talking to someone is too damn low, especially while driving.
So I have tried the SSH method mentioned and also the Volume Boost 3.0 cydia app, and nothing. there is no difference at all in the loudness of the speaker.
But I did install the Mail Sounds Volume Boost cydia app and that actually worked, the default mail sound is way louder. so that's one fix.
Now I am just want a way to boost the overall volume, someone fix this please!

side question: since I did the SSH method and it didn't work, should I undo the changes I made or just leave it? thanks.
