I know but follow the thread, there are more files where he links too. It depends on why your incoming pics are crappy. If it's because your cell provider ignores what is in the MMS settings and instead looks for that info from the phone itself then his fix will work. You would have to manually edit your carrier bundle files to at the UA profile for a different phone. Once we did that our pics were clear.

I just ssh'ed into my phone and replaced. Hard rebooted.

However, when i send an MMS to myself, it fails at sending, but I do receive it.
How did you SSH it? Where?

3.0 battery life seems to be a hot topic. Don't know if it's MMS or something else as tons of people with 3g and 3gs and no MMS are having issues as well.

@Unfaced...if you look at my sig, hit that link and then hit the first link in my list, in that thread is the location where to SSH them in...at least it worked for me....after I restored because of a different issue, that location wasn't there anymore.

Found on another forum:
SSHed in their iPhone and moved the APSD file from start up in: /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.apsd.plist

The person moved it into a dummy file somewhere else.. and reset the iPhone (iphone still worked).

According to this person the battery definitely seem to last longer and it did not get warm.

Battery life reduced after activating MMS on 2G

I'm gonna try editing carrier.plist now, let's see what's gonna happen. >=)
The battery drain is worse after activating the native MMS in my 2G (I have SwirlyMMS2 on as well, haven't decided what MMS app to keep yet).

Have anyone found out what seemingly causes the unit to use more energy after activating MMS?

Download either of these ipcc.zip files(the first one is for epc.tmo the 2nd is internet2.voicestream :

http://www.modmyi.com/forums/attachm...aking.ipcc.zip

2. If you haven't already configured itunes 8.2 to install ipcc's thru holding the shift then restore button than you need to do that first, here's how: (from random critics website)
apple have disabled the capability of updating the carrier files (via ipcc) fiels in itunes 8.2 but if you want to update your carrier files with the latest itunes 8.2 you can do it this way.
On windows it may rename the file to .zip to just rename it back to .ipcc

make sure itunes is not running

mac – open a terminal and type in..
Defaults write com.apple.itunes carrier-testing -bool true

windows – open up a command shell and type in: (command prompt)(open run and then type in cmd)

then word for word type in this

“%programfiles%itunesitunes.exe” /setprefint carrier-testing 1

ps- your itunes might be in programfiles(x86) on some vista devices so type that in instead.
This should now allow you to update your iphones ipcc file in itunes 8.2 via shift-update (windows) or command-update (macintosh) in itunes. Choose the ipcc file and install

a reboot (hold down power and bottom button) will be needed after an install.

After you have done this hold either shift then click on restore (in windows) or option/alt and click restore (on mac) then browse to the folder where you unzipped the ipcc.zip file (remember to unzip it first, or else itunes won't recognize it!!) and then click on ok, itunes will install the new carrier bundle. Once done reboot your phone (don"t just turn it off then on again)

that's it!

Raginasian, seems like we're both on top of this one! Lol
worked fixed blurry sent pictures!!!!

Tried and testing working on iPhone 3G running 3.0 firmware

1. Download the ipcc file & unzip to a location of your choice
2. Make sure you have iTunes pre-release version of (8.2 beta 4 or below)
3. Plug your iPhone in
4. Launch iTunes
5. Click on your device
6. Hold Shift and click on Check for updates
7. Under Files of Types select iPhone Carrier Bundle Files (*.ipcc)
8. Locate the file you just downloaded
9. Click open

It will now load the carrier bundle into your iPhone

10. Restart your iPhone.

With this carrier bundle, you will be able to:

1. Send / Receive MMS
2. Tethering with your PC/MAC

Note:

No additional settings required

WEB & Tethering is using diginet APN
MMS is using digimms APN

It's not that actual size of download, it's a mistake.
