Tried and testing working on iPhone 3G running 3.0 firmware
1. Download the ipcc file & unzip to a location of your choice
2. Make sure you have iTunes pre-release version of (8.2 beta 4 or below)
3. Plug your iPhone in
4. Launch iTunes
5. Click on your device
6. Hold Shift and click on Check for updates
7. Under Files of Types select iPhone Carrier Bundle Files (*.ipcc)
8. Locate the file you just downloaded
9. Click open
It will now load the carrier bundle into your iPhone
10. Restart your iPhone.
With this carrier bundle, you will be able to:
1. Send / Receive MMS
2. Tethering with your PC/MAC
Note:
No additional settings required
WEB & Tethering is using diginet APN
MMS is using digimms APN

Hi, I have an iPhone 2G running 3.0 on T-Mobile. Can someone write or give me a link to a step by step guide for enabling MMS? I dont want to use the ActiveMMS2G because I dont have 700MB of space for it.
Thank You

I didn't get to follow this thread since there's a lot of things going back and forth, back and forth.
Anyways, I did exactly as posted and decided to use the wap.voicestream.com as both apns.
Everything works perfectly fine! MMS takes about 15 seconds to send and receiving pictures, quality wise isn't that great but it works!
My internet still works also.
Has anyone figured out what needs to be done to get better resolution for the pictures?

looks nice but if you send yourself a photo via your own iphone it will send it to yourself in the resolution of your iphone's camera... I wouldn't trust this unless he uses another phone to send the mms, providing us with a accurate demo of how this would work.
iPhone: 16gb 2g
firmware: 2.2.1
Operating system: osx

OK, this thread is long, overrun with different solutions and just plain hell to find the needle in the haystack.
I have a 2G phone with OS3.0.1 jailbroken with RedSn0w and ActivateMMS2G installed.
I also have the T-Mobile data plan ($19.99), so I have a Cellular Data APN of internet2.voicestream.com.
And, yet, as it's been posted time and again, setting the MMS APN to wap.voicestream.com does not stick.
So, what is the real solution for those of us who have the data plan, need internet2.voicestream.com for the Cellular Data APN, but need the supposed wap.voicestream.com MMS APN?
And, why can I receive pics via MMS but not get the send to ever complete?
Sorry to re-post a posted question, but 64 pages later I cannot find the real fix for this.

Tested. It works. I tried with a previous carrier file which set the max msg size limit. Picture came in grainy as hell.
Used this carrier file, which leaves mms max msg size blank, but uses the mms UA Prof URL for a sony ericsson W800iR101.xml
The new carrier file has remarkably better resolution.

By the way, one of the BEST instructionals is posted here:
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyxRaewLsFA]YouTube - MMS Resolution Fix for 3.0 T-mobile[/ame]
Basically, the guy has you download an IPCC from herethen he has you run:Code:http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8XHQ63PB
Once in iTunes with your iPhone connected, you do Shift-"Check For Updates" and a Navigator shows up. You change the File Type to IPCC and choose the aforementioned, downloaded IPCC file.Code:"C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefLnt carrier-testing 1
Once loaded, this is the profile that will fill in a different APN for Data than for MMS. If you need to alter those values, you edit that IPCC file using IFile (install from Cydia).
All of this works great in getting the settings to stick. Unfortunately, I cannot send a dang picture ... still.Last edited by LogicAl2008; 08-11-2009 at 08:39 PM.
