I'm running 3.0 and have been annoyed by the springboard search. Specifically, when one searches for an app installed via Cydia, only a small portion of the icon is shown in the search results list. Appstore apps appear to have their icons automatically resized for this. Maybe I'm the only one annoyed by this, but I found a workaround:

The icons have to be fixed for each app individually. For example, if you wanted to fix Cycorder, just ssh into /Applications/Cycorder.app and copy icon.png onto your computer. Use an image editing program to resize it to 29x29 pixels. Rename it Icon-Small.png and copy it back into Cycorder.app. After a respring, the icon will look nice in the search. This has worked for me in every application.
