Hello,
I've only just joined so this is my first post around here.
I have an 8GB iPod touch and I installed LockDockBar, which by looking at things, I shouldn't have done. I also run SBSettings and I keep Cydia in its Dock. Now my iPod is in safe mode and I can't get SBSettings up as it is a disabled extension. Cydia is not on my SpringBoard, so I can't launch it to uninstall LockDockBar. I've tried removing the entries in /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.iptm.bigboss.sbsettings.plist on my Mac but I still don't have Cydia, duplicating the app does nothing. What can I do?
Thanks in advance
Remove /User/Library/Preferences/com.apple.springboard.plist and restart the phone (turn it off and on again), then see whether you have the Cydia icon back.
Windows tool to edit .plist, .strings and .nib files: pledit.
Or use a website that will convert the binary form to a readable format.
On iPhone you can convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities from Cydia), or edit them with iFile (from Cydia).
Wow, that's interesting! I didn't know that was possible.

I found it by transferring the /Applications/Cydia.app/Info.plist to my Mac, opened it in Property List Editor and under URL Types it said cydia. Typing it into Safari opened Cydia so I could uninstall LockDockBar. I'd imagine ou can do this with a lot of apps if you can't get to them, I know you can on Mac apps as well.
Interesting! It seems to work with the following URL types in Safari:
maps:// (opens Maps)
youtube:// (opens the YouTube app)
cydia://
And several App Store apps, including
comgoogleearth:// and kml:// and kmz:// (for the Google Earth app)
trapster:// (the Trapster app)
shazam:// and shazamid:// (the Shazam app)
twitterfon:// (the TwitterFon app)
