iPhone beta 3.0 - enable Emoji
Took a bit of searching but here's the scoop and yes there are several different ways to accomplish this including spending $0.99 or more on a few other apps that may or may not work on 3.0. This method is free and works.
Here's the instructions:
Install Spell Number then launch the app and enter this number: 91929394.59
Tip: if you email this to yourself you can use the new Copy/Paste function in 3.0!
Now quit the app and open Settings -> General -> International -> Japanese and now select Emoji
Ver 1.04 of the app is required

The app is now free and still works with 3.0 gm.
