Disk Aid: better way to SSH!
Holy DiskAid-
so much easier than SSH- I've been reading these forums alot- and posting here and there when i could help, or needed help-
but holy sweet holy grail of easy!!! Disk-Aid just made my day- as i dont really care about webspeed and am happy to always use edge, since my wifi card died- but the only thing i wanted wifi for was SSH- but now, with disk-aid- i dont care no more!
for those that dont know, DiskAid just lets you plug in via the usb and do pretty much the same thing SSH would- just remember to set the permissions before you transfer your files over-
I'm in disbelief that i've been modding ipod touchs, and iphones for a over a year without knowing about this software!!!
google for it- and enjoyhappiness is a warm iphone~~~~

iFunBox is another one, and iPhonelist (Windows).
By the way, it's not a "better way to SSH", because it doesn't use the SSH protocol. If you want the full power of SSH and still want to make the connection using the USB cable, iPhone Tunnel Suite or iTunnel (Mac & Windows) can help.Windows tool to edit .plist, .strings and .nib files: pledit.
Or use a website that will convert the binary form to a readable format.
On iPhone you can convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities from Cydia), or edit them with iFile (from Cydia).

Do you have to change any passwords with Diskaid like you have to do with OpenSSH?

Disk Aid doesn't work well for me. It tends to corrupt files when I try to copy them to the device. This causes problems.

This is not SSH: it uses AFC2 -- can be installed with afc2add in Cydia. This is nothing new -- about 5 programs can do this. I have not seen an afc2 program that allows you to set permissions -- just get iFile to set permissions.
