I've read something about typing them into the google search bar in safari. This isn't a way to edit the dictionary to your liking but supposedly it is a way to add words. Have yet to try it.

Using it in the built in Google search does add it to the iPhone's dictionary.

Looks like apple have fixed the LOL problem in 3.0 beta 2, I noticed when sending a message it just does the normal lol haha will least it doesn't do it for me anymore now I'm on 3.0

After this I went to SMS and tried it and it didn't work
