I've searched and found lots of references to mounting the iphone drive so that it can be accessed from a linux machine or windows machine.

I need to do the opposite.
Out in the field with no access to the linux box at the office.
Only have the iphone.
There's a file on the iphone.
Need to save that file to the drive on linux machine at the office.
Can get access via VPN, that part is working, and can ping the linux server using internal ip address such as 10.0.0.100.

Now, how can I write to the linux machine's hard drive? I have mobile terminal on the iphone if that's required.

Your best bet would be to ftp into the linux box if its setup to allow it or even VNC into it so you can see what you are looking at.
