There are a couple apps in cydia that help making a restore a bit less painless.
Appbackup
Aptbackup

Hi,
I *blushes* accidentally deleted the MobileSafari app from my 3G iPhone with firmware 3.0.1 on it.
Is the copy attached to the first post the one that comes with firmware 3.0? And if it's not (and I assume I better not use it if I don't want an even bigger screw-up), could someone please post the 3.x one?
Thanks a lot in advance.

What went through your head when you were deleting files when you saw MobileSMS.app or MobileSafari.app that made you think you can delete it? Lol

Accidents can always happen especially if you are getting "trigger happy" and deleting a bunch of stuff. This thread is also very helpful if are trying to mod a file without backing up the app on your computer - one thing you should always do but something i do not do all the time because i always have the "restore" option in the back of my mind. Something could always go wrong.
This thread is helpful to me because i went in and deleted all of the language files i do not need in each app. (It makes the program load much faster and gives me more space on my 3GS). However, one wrong click of the mouse and you could accidentally move a file or deleted it and can't replace it and the app will just crash when you open it.
Thanks gQstatus05 for the links to the apps!
