Replace Ipod icon with Music and Video??

Is there a way to replace the iPod icon with two separate icons for Music and Video?

There was a mod for earlier FW and I can no longer find anything for FW 2.2 in Cydia.

I have found it increasingly important to separate the video from the Music...
What with all those ... clips... that one gathers here and there...

I don't think you can do that on 2.2 but there is another application that would allow one to acquire clips of a certain nature. The application is called iSteamy available via cydia.

never tried it in 2.2, but this works in 3.0 beta 3 so it may help you...

To split your iPod app into music and video apps or vice versa-
1. SSH into your iphone
2. Go to /System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app/
3. Download the file M68AP.plist
4. Open the file using a text editor or a plist editor
5. Change unified-ipod from true to false (or vice versa)
6. it should be Boolean Key = unified-ipod / Boolean Value = false
7. Save and upload the file to the same directory that it was originally in
8. Go onto the iPhone and respring
9. Now you will have a separate app for music and a separate app for videos

I use PropertyList Editor 1.0c for Windows XP to edit the file. Also, this is not my tutorial, I found it somewhere else, but I only saved the clip on how to do it.

just tried it on the 3.1.3 firmware and worked like a charm. my only question: is there anyway to switch the music.app icon back to the ipod icon?

im trying this on os4 and i dont seem to have the M68AP.PLIST ANY IDEAS?

ive tried editing the info.plist in the mobilemusicplayer app and all its done when i change unified ipod to false is makes the icon white...
i need some help guys i relly wna do this!!

now i managed to neaten out a few things but still have a few problems..
ipod no longer shows up in settings, obviously becasue it isnt there, in preferences there are prop lists called settings-iphone and settings-ipod. i can clearly see what i need to change in these so will do it in a little while and hopefully that will work.
also music is now constantly in the MTDock, i mean like i open MTDock hold and close music, close and reopen MTDock and its F***ing back again!?!? can anyone help me with this? i cannot see what scausing it

UPDATE:to make the music/video to show up in settings instead of iPod just go to preferences.app (its in var/stash/applications) and rename settings-iphone.plist to anything (just to make sure you have a backup of it!!) and then rename the settings-ipod.plist to settings-iphone, respring and your all set.. it is possible to change values within the two prop lists instead of doing this, but it takes longer and you need to know what your doing so this is alot easier..
oh and for anyone not sure all your standard iphone settings are still there =]
the only problem i have now is that it is constantly in the MTDock even when i close it, close dock and then reopen dock its there again!!!
