Want to install and remove applications using Windows XP-SP3

Hi,

I have got 2g iphone with 1.1.4FW and i m really tired for looking every where, but found forum very nice as i saw friends helping each other. Please help me in enjoying to use my iphone.

I have gone through the forums but I got confused on lot of things. I need help to install and remove applications from my Iphone. I need help in change my FW to 2.2 as I need to install new applications. I am very new to apple so i might have dumb questions, sorry for that.
I have lot of applications on my cell and few of them dont even work and some are trial version.

I dont have internet connection on iphone but i have internet on my PC-windows XP-SP3.

My phone is already jailbroken or unlocked. Few apps that i have are Finder, FWChanger, SpoofApp2.1-does not work, SMBPrefs, file browser-doest work, intelliscreen-demo, cydia, boss tool, installer, pysl, funambol, wallpaper, etc......

I want to install ipint, night stand, etc.. but how will i do it as i have already downloaded the *.app file from intunes (its free). pl help.

To upgrade to 2.2 use quickpwn 2.2.Then ssh into your iphone with your free wanted apps.(why do have any net connection on your iphone like edge or wifi?)Anyway here is the link 2 upgrade:

if u have a wireless card the one that plugs into ur pci slot u can make a network so ur iphone can connect
the wireless adapters work also
just nstall the wireless card
setup an adhoc network
and make it
pc to pc
and share the networks with eachother
using this method u can be able to access more apps
via cydia

ignore the Configuring a Client Computer section
and just follow everything else
after ur done
double lcick on the wireless icon on the task bar
and connect to the network u just made
after that ur iphone should recognize the network thus giving u connection to the web.


oh and wirecards and wireless adapters run for like $20 US
ebay and craigslist have some deals to..
hope you can set up the network for internet on your phone.

I was browsing through the blogs, it said i have to upgrade to 2.0 Fw first and then 2.2. By the way are there any apps included in Quickpwn. As i dont want to loose out my apps or if u happen to have some apps,can u forward me.

if you update you may have to reinstall those apps anyway. Just get a fresh start with 2.2 and write down what apps you did have. I dont know off hand which ones worked on 1.x only and 2.x only but should be alright i imagine. Guide to 2.2 quickpwn is there. Anything you sync in iTunes will be put back but not jailbroken apps which is why you need to write those down.

OH and if those apps from the app store are "free" from a illegal standpoint we really can't help you there. But any official app store stuff like i said will stay. but i think you can't have stuff from the app store unless you were in 2.x anyway...

Should i go ahead on itunes and click restore and update to 2.2 directly and then may be i can quickpwn it, which also unlocks the iphone so that i can use my vodafone sim.

Just use Itunes 8.02 to RESTORE to firmware 2.2 and then use quickpwn 2.2 to jailbreak/unlock.

Hi, I was browsing through my applications in iphone, i found this FW changer, where i selected FW 2.0 and now when i go to settings, about, it shows that my FW is 2.0.
So if i have 2.00 FW how do i install apps from itunes....
Is there any option as such to install applications from itunes (free one's like ipint, night stand, etc....).

Pwnage 2.x Guide would be the guide to follow no matter whats on the phone it will force it to take the update and show you how to get it to do it. 2.2 FW has the App store built right in and you can install programs directly from it. Best to do it on WIFI so it will be quicker.

Hi,
Some times when i receive sms it displays the content on screen itself, i want to disable that and also sometimes when i try to view the sms iphone get stuck and goes to the locked screen mode.
Also once i was not able to hear what the caller is saying and my screen display was still on while holding it to my ear. Then i plugged in my handsfree and ipod started automatically, this happened for many times and then suddenly it came to normal. I dont know what wrong with my iphone. If the same continues i have to get rid of it i suppose. Please help me to save my iphone as i love it very much.

How good is FW 2.2???????? what are the changes????

2.2 is the latest firmware, and Apple look forward on making things better. So I would say yeah! 2.2 is alright and safe. On 2.2 you can play all those games from AppStore. Most of them require 2.1 firmware. And to help Atish_k a li'l:

If you don't have internet connection, you need to upgrade your iPhone, and jailbreak it. There are millions of tutorials and websites for that. And all those apps you have on 1.1.4 got lot better on 2.2! Even that intelliscreen is out of beta. And coolest thing is you can have most of those kind applications for free using x.S.e.l.l.i.z.e (modmyi don't like x.s.e.l.l.i.z.e) you'll figure out what to do from there. And when you're jailbreaking your iPhone do not get Installer! I'm telling you! Just get Cydia. Installer is not same as 1.1.4 anymore. It barely has few apps. Not even useful. And all the developers or the companies are putting their apps on Cydia only. So installer will just be useless. Plus it's damn slow. And get the Cydia, go to Starbucks or somewhere where they have free internet, and run Cydia. From Cydia, my recommendetions are:
#1-Get all the upgrades!
#2-Winterboard
#3-********** (to get it add Welcome to Cydia.hackulo.us!)
#4-Categories
#5-FiveIconDock
#6-iRealSMS (free if you use xSellize)
#7-SBSetiings

and after you get **********, go into your Appstore, install Google. It's 100% free. And uses so li'l space. You need to download one free Application from AppStore to get your cracked .ipa to work. And after the installation is compelete go into ********** and download one application. One game. Look for the smallest size. Because I don't wanna hold you long in that starbucks. And now go home. Looks like you have internet at home. Go into appulos.us or iparepo.com and download some games, books, flash cards... Things you need. And copy them into var/mobile/library/downloads and you'll see the .ipa s in your ********** next time you go in there.

And if you sync your music or pix, your computer might be deleting your .ipa s. To avoid that you need to Organize your iTunes. I mean, from iTunes go to Store (on top next to Controls)-> Authorize Computer and put your apple account in. Now plug your phone, and if it's asking you to do anything like Register your iPhone or whatever skip all those. Do not sync anything. Right click on your iPhone from iTunes, Transfer Purchases! Other way is you can sync all your pix and music, videos before you put all those .ipa s in. But I just thought you might have to sync your phone later on... for new things...

Thanks a lot m1ngaa, I would have been very luck to find starbucks but we dont have that in here. Is there a way on getting internet through the usb from my PC. Rest all i will sure try once i get this internet issue resolved. till then i will be on my 2.0FW with already installed apps.
Also i have mentioned above that my iphone goes to keypad lock sometimes when i receive sms, the sms appears on screen and when i try to close it, this thing happens. Can u help me on this.

2.0 has lotsa bugs like that I've heard. Sadly my phone was never on 2.0... 1.4 to 2.2 straight... Where are you logging into this forum from? Go to a bank, if you have a laptop take it with you! But make sure you have installed all the requirements such as QuickPWN22-1.exe and the custom firmware. Well it's a lotsa work if you don't have internet on your phone all the time. But hey I'm from Mongolia and I swear it is a country side! We have WiFi and lot faster 3G there! And if you live in an area that actually gives you an internet option then there's a WiFi connection somewhere! Banks, Office, schools...

I m from Mumbai, India. We do have wifi locations but very few and are password protected since terrorist attacks. I want to upgrade my FW too but the issue is I dont have wifi. Also there are lot of questions but i fear whom to ask. But good to know you are replying to my post's. Thanks a ton and i really need some more help from you.
Has caller ID fixed for Mumbai, India in 2.2 upgrade for landlines as it does recognise cell phone numbers (as sometimes it does not recognise saved numbers too, for eg. 91(Country code), 022(city code) and the the landline number).

I m sorry i m taking time to upgrade but i want to clear all my doubts before upgrading. 2G iphone is not supported in here, so we have to unlock it. Hope winpawn will help in this regards.

well, then maybe you should just stick with your 2.0.2 firmware. But yeah QuickPWN will unlock and activate your 2G iPhone. Just make sure you got the custom firmware. To upgrade and unlock you need to upgrade your iPhone through iTunes, it'll download the firmware and upgrade it. Will erase all data and put the new things in. Your phone will even run faster. And you have to download the QuickPWN 22-1 and the custom 2.2 firmware. It will unlock your iPhone. I can upload them for you if you want the right ones. And to stop your iTunes from deleting your Apps, you need to have 2.2 MobileInstallation Patch from Steffiz repo. And from your iTunes you need to authorize your computer by clicking Store button on top and Authorize Computer. Put in your Apple account and plug your Phone and when your iTunes reads your iPhone you need to right click on your iPhone logo from Left side bar and click Transfer Purchases. Or you have all the Applications in .ipa format in your computer right? Just double click on the ones that your iPhone has and let iTunes load them. After that you might be okay. Yeah, it is a trouble and hard sometimes...
