I'm using IPhone 3G 2.2 JB

I downloaded the mobileinstallation patch, but I now have reason to believe it was not for 2.2. After installation I tried to install a legit app from the app store, but the AppStore would crash, I rebooted my phone and now it won't get past the Apple logo.

If I boot the phone while plugged in, it will vibrate, which I believe means it recognizes it's plugged in and charging. Then in 5 seconds it vibrates again, then again, and this continues. I hold both buttons to shut the phone off. Will a restore fix this, then I'll have to rejailbreak? Is there any other way to resolve this?

Is there a way to force the phone to boot into safemode? If so, and I can turn on SSH, I can then rename mobileinstallion.bak to mobileinstallation. Also, I set the file to 775, I recently read somewhere that it should be set to 755, can anyone confirm this?

hi i am in the same situation but i ssh into iphone 2.2 change the file then when i dissconnect its all fine.

problem ocors when i reboot iphone for 1st time after changing the file. i get the apple logo that dosnt dissapear. tried 3 times and all 3 times had to restore iphone.

is there different versions of mobileinstallation or all the same. also what the above post says has anyone been able to get it to work on 2.2.

any help would be great.
