    Default Change Iphone MTU setting???

First let me start off by saying I don't care if you think it is a stupid idea or that it is going to be too laggy. If you think it's that stupid then don't waste your time replying.

    Here is what I have:
    Iphone 1g 2.1 pwnd
    PDAnet 1.33 installed on iphone
    laptop windows vista
    belkin wireless router

Here is what i'm trying to do. I want to play PSP online using iphone internet connection. I have successfully created a network that allows me to share iphone internet to router and have succefully connected other laptops, xbox 360 and PSP to the router and have verified internet connection on all mentioned devices.

1 created adhoc network on laptop
2 turned ICS on wireless network adapter
3 setup wireless router as an access point
4 connect laptop to adhoc network
5 connect iphone to adhoc network
6 turn on pdanet on iphone
7 connect cat 5 cable to ethernet port on laptop and lan port on wireless router
8 plug power cord in wireless router
9 I now have a wifi hotspot anywhere i want one.

Laptops connect just fine. I even had a friend play WOW online with his laptop connected to my wireless network.
Xbox 360 runs network test and everything goes fine. It detects network connection and internet connection, but fails to meet the MTU requirments.
PSP connects fine as well. I tried to play Madden 08 on psp online and I am able to connect to the network, and get into game lobby. I can even create a game, or attempt to connect to someone elses game but thats as far as it goes. Do PSP have minimum MTU requirements similar to Xbox Live?

I guess I should also state that this setup has also been tested with and Iphone 3g 2.1 pwnd.
Also i have connected to another wifi with my laptop configured the same way with ICS enabled just as it would be if i were using the iphone and everything worked fine. I was able to play Xbox live and PSP online no problem so it's not anything i have configured on my setup. It has to be the Iphone.

My question is there some way to change the MTU setting on the Iphone. I read another forum where someone was able to change MTU setting on a windows mobile OS phone to do something similar, here is the link for that post T-Mobile GPRS / EDGE GOOGLE FIX - regedit MTU setting - xda-developers I could care less about the Xbox live, the one I really want is the PSP to be able to play online via iphone internet connection.

1 more thing I stumbled accross while messing around with this. If you tether iphone to laptop, turn on padnet, and verify you have internet access (open safari, load webpage) you can connect any device that is capable of connecting to adhoc connection. Example: I connected xbox 360 to tether and was able to run test successfully until it failed MTU.
I connected an ipod touch to the already running adhoc connection and was getting ip conflicts so i disable wifi on laptop and went to turn off pdanet and looked at the top of pdanet. It said IPOD connected so i opened safari and it worked. I checked again to make sure the wifi was disabled on laptop, which it was, so i went outside and drove down the road and i had internet connection on ipod touch via iphone. You just need the laptop to create the adhoc connection. Kinda weird and useful too.

Hopefully this will help alot of people out and maybe someone can answer my questions too. If you need any help setting up what i have just ask. Thanks in advance.

Default I got it to work

I posted this in another forum:
" OK it works now for some reason
OK Koobs, not sure why it works but it does now. This is what I got now

    Iphone EDGE 2.2 FW
PDAnet 1.50 tethered via wifi, (1.50 now supports USB tethering although there are DNS issues that will be resolved in an update soon)
    Laptop with wireless NIC
    xbox 360
CAT 5 CROSSOVER CABLE (not sure if it will work with a straight cable, all I had handy was my old crossover cable that I used to use for xbox system link and halo 1 & 2

    Here is all I did:

    Create ADHOC connection on laptop
Connect Iphone to ADHOC connection (WIFI)
Turn PDAnet on to WIFI MODE
    Enabled ICS on NIC properties
Connected CAT 5 CROSSOVER CABLE to Ethernet port on laptop and
    xbox 360
    Connected to XBOX LIVE.

DATA usage was not bad at all. It appeared to be about 3KB/s up and down. After about 30 - 45 minutes of play I had only acrued about 2.5 MB received and 3 MB sent.

Ive tried these exact same steps before with no success. So I'm not sure if it is the recent updates that have made this possible or what. I was trying to use a wireless router and connect the xbox 360. It would let me connect to xbox live but not play a game so i used cat5 cable instead. I'm not sure if you HAVE TO have a crossover cable or not so if you have a (straight) cable and you try this without success try a crossover cable. If you don't have one you can bring a regular one to radio shack or any PC shop and they can probably help you out for the cost of the connector, which is normally about $5.

Still haven't tested with PSP yet or original xbox but im sure the original xbox will work.

FOR ALL THE HATERS (ON THIS FORUM AND OTHERS) THAT SAID HOW HORRIBLE THE LAG WOULD BE YOU WERE TERRIBLY MISTAKEN. I PLAYED SEVERAL GAMES AND DIPPED INTO THE RED ZONE ONCE AND I WAS STILL GETTING KILLS ON HALO 3. GOT INTO THE GREEN ZONE TOO BUT FOR THE MOST PART STAYED IN YELLOW. NOT ONLY WAS IT VERY PLAYABLE BUT I WON EVERY GAME I PLAYED. I DID THIS USING IPHONE WITH EDGE CONNECTION SO I WOULD HAVE TO IMAGINE THAT 3G WOULD PROBABLY HAVE LESS LAG (LESS TRAFFIC). HOPEFULLY THIS WILL HELP SOME PEOPLE OUT I THINK THIS IS AWSOME. THE FACT THAT YOU COULD BE DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY PLAYING XBOX LIVE IS AWSOME!!
