Cant Change Fido Carrier LOGO! HELP

I backed up all the original .plist files and pngs before I did anything. So everytime that you had a new idea I had to do everything all over again



The bundles folder is with the B capitalized "Bundle"...I just got lazy hitting the shift key when I wrote the message



After replacing the carrier.plist that you edited and pull it out again...the AllowPrefixMatching stays at true. I tried changing the name of the icon as you suggested but nothing.

Well, after all this and we got nowhere...thanks for all the help

So in the end, this is what I did to get an image

1. Extract the Keyboard-Emoji.artwork file using iPhoneShop
2. Used the image(s) desired and resizing them to 32x32
3. Find the emoji icons that you will not likely use and replace them
4. Repack them and put back in the Keyboard-Emoji.artwork file
5. Find the same image(s) you replaced in Keyboard-Emoji.artwork file in system/library/privateframework/webcore.framework...these images has to be at 20x20
6. Reboot your phone and voila...launch MIM, select the pngs that you replaced and put it in your carrier.

Assuming you have the emoji keyboard installed from Cydia...launch MIM and press the button beside the space bar and you can use which ever default images (from the emoji keyboard) as desired. But if you want to add your own png then follow step 1 to 6

iPhoneshop will not allow me to extract the file. Do I need to set it up somehow or use it in a certain way?

guys your problems that when you name them.... call them Default_CARRIER_FIDO...FSO_CARRIER_FIDO.... use fido in capitals aswell.... i,ve made buddies themes who have fido.. i put them in the "Bundles" folder, in "com.apple.Fido_ca" folder....!!! try this hope it helps you guys...!!

don't screw with deleting png's or changing plist's just ssh into winterboard what i said and im sure it will work for you guys.....!!!!

i found how to change the fido logo. after 1 year of tries. i spent 1 full day and i found that in the flashing they added that the carrier name is Fido . but in the default and FSO they used fido. so the systeme knows only there flashing and not the image ( .png )
so what u have to do is get supreme preferences 3.0
1rst reset the the network if u used Make it mine or carrier . then in settings - general go to the end on the page and click on reset and reset the network.
2nd after that u downloaded the supreme perf 3.0 activate it in winterboard
and go to stattus bar then in carrier click on shorcuts and choose fido (( don't type it )) click on the fido from the list below.
respring ur iphone then in the status bar u will c ur Fido is now fido.
SSH ( /system/library/Carrier Bundles/Fido_ca.bumdle and add ur new images )
REBOOT AND DONT RESPRING

they sld be ( Default_CARRIER_fido.png and FSO_CARRIER_fido.png )


and the logo if u want the Nouveaufido or in english Newfido

Thanks . just 1 the MobileSubstrate in Cydia. and then i installed the supreme preferences 3.0. but still looking how to change the SMS background and the keyboard, if u know how to do it i dont mind that u pass me that info ...

Sounds like a task for Winterboard combined with one or more suitable themes...

its many themes. that i ssh them on my mac and rework them again on photoshop and add Default and Catergories background that i made and icon that they r for mac and i resized them for the iphone. and create dialer keyboard and Dialer LCD and more... what i can tell u that it took me 2 days to make this theme , now searching to find how to change keyboard ...

I found a way to get the fido logo without all of what other ppl said.

It took me 3 hours but I got it done.

You need to replace every single fido folder and rename the image folders Fido instead of fido. (capital F)

There is 4 times where u have to change both folders. In your theme in /var/stash/blabla

in /var/mobile/....

and in Systems/Library/Fido.ca bla bla
and in Systems/Library/Unknown blabla

Also, I did not reboot! I just deselected my current theme and put it back.

remember to capital the f!

lol and why to do that. just supreme pref 3.0 from cydia and choose the fido. and then replace it just once in SSH as already explained
... why to go under each file and make changes ... why to complecate things + when u change the letter u may have issue when u upgrade the network this its known as f and not F ...
and supreme pref 3.0 is a gr8 application . and u can make all of this in just less then min...

I did not change the carriers name. It was always Fido_ca, all I did was change the picture file from f to F. Also supreme pref 3.0 is not there anymore, apparently it's too buggy and was discontinued.

Fido is always roaming because they use rogers towers what needs to be done..... install make it mine rename your network to "Fido" capital F .. go into system/libary/carrier bundles/Fido_ca.bundles open up carrier.plist find the 2 fido name entries and rename to "Fido" capital F and rename the links to the png images to same Default_CARRIER_Fido.png and FSO_CARRIER_Fido.png Capitals on Fido Again! and make shure the option "allowprefixmatching" to be set to "true"..... in the main folder Fido_ca.bundle make shure your 2 custom png's are placed in there and thier named Default_CARRIER_Fido.png and FSO_CARRIER_Fido.png navigate back on to the carrier bundle folder and go to unknown.bundle take the 2 files Default_CARRIER_Fido.png and FSO_CARRIER_Fido.png and copy them in there too . so in end youll have 2 in Fido_ca.bundle and 2 in unknown.bundle ..... ok so restart or respring your fon ... now if it doesnt show up still be cool.. go back into make it mine app and clear the name by leaving it blank and hitting carrier and then readd "Fido" and rename it... it should show up by this point ...... the reason y this is such a problem is because fido relys on ROGERS towers so fido is tech.. always in roam mode even tho the fon doesnt say it so it will pull the png image from the unknown.bundle folder but everything else HAS to be set up and edited to work correctly

wow...after 2 years and now I found the easiest way to change your carrier image. Go to Cydia and look for Canadian carriers for zeppelin...voila. Go to setting and choose the image of your choice or create one and ssh it in the library folder. I'm on 5.0.1 3gs
