How to change Speed Dial ICONS with OneTapDial from AppStore

although i really like the OneTapDial app from the appstore, it has some of the ugliest icons in the world.

you must be jailbroken and have OpenSSH installed

1. first off, download "OneTapDial" from the AppStore (it's free)

2. make a speed dial icon. Open up OneTapDial > Next > Select Contact > Select an ugly icon > Select Call, Text, or Ask > Next > Next > Click ADD bottom of safari > Add to Home Screen > Name Speed Dial. And that should create a speed dial icon to your springboard.

4. Make a 60 x 60 png picture file (the one that you will replace with the ugly ones). Make sure you name the file "icon.png"

5. Upload them to a server. i used geocities (its free and the png icon files are so small that you'll never pass your bandwidth). use different folders to upload multiple files with the same name "icon.png".

6. Open up WinSCP and connect

7. browse over to /private/var/mobile/Library/WebClips

8. inside one of those folders (the ones that are named with a series of numbers and letters.webclip) is the speed dial that you just made.

9. Open up the folder and inside should have Info.plist. Open up that file and the top part where it says

"<key>FullScreen</key>
<true/>
<key>IconURL</key>
<string>http://www.yourURL.com/blahblah/icon.png</string>"

and replace the URL address to the URL address of the icon that you just uploaded.

10. at the bottom of the Info.plist where it says

"<string>data:text/html,%3Clink%20rel=%22apple-touch-icon%22%20href=%22http://www.yourURL.com/blahblah/icon.png%22/%3E%3Cmeta%20name"

change the URL address to the same one you pasted at the top part.

11. Save the Info.plist.

12. Replace the icon.png inside the webclip folder with the same 60 x 60 png file you just uploaded.

13. Respring or Reboot.

14. The icons at first will be square (sharp cornered). Simply click on it to activate the speeddial, end the call and it will bring you back to the springboard. NOW THE ICON IS NICELY ROUNDED like icons from the App Store.

Jean and Tracy Apts ... look like twins


and u can do the same thing with CallMe app from Cydia...
just replace the icon.png in the folder.
No changing any Plist or anything.. just the icon.

i like the call or text option for OneTapDial though.
