Date Language location?

hi,
I just wondered where on my iphone can I find the date format / languages.
the thing is: I like to have my iphone in english, but since I live in germany and want my phone numbers formatted correctly I need to have my Region Format set to germany.
the only thing I hate about this is that it shows all my dates / days etc. in german (which looks kind of sucky when all the other strings are english).
I have been searching like hell but I just can't find the file where that is defined. I found the phone format file, but nothing regarding the date language.
can anyone help me out?
