I know there are lots of threads on this, ive tried everything, still no success...

All i am trying to do is have a clear/transparent status bar on the home screen..

Every single time ive tried; winterboard, ssh, etc.. it either comes out grey, white, black or black with a silver lining around it...

If anyone has successfully done this, please let me know how, thanks...

Should work by creating one with a completely "blank, transparent" canvas. For example, in photoshop choose New -> set your dimensions for the bar and choose "transparent", when it opens just turn around and save as is, just like that.

Im pretty sure theres a blank status bar in the blackberry impression theme. just download that theme and you should be good to go.

Hmmm, thats odd. I tried the one I sent you and it worked fine.

well i must be doing something wrong then... ive replaced it via ssh and also tried setting it up via winterboard.. can you tell me exactly what you did?
