Have the User name and passwords changed for SSH

iv installed openssh again since iv updated too 1.1.3 but now im just getting network error when trying too connect...
The details im using are..
user name: root password: alpine
the login details aint changed have they, i can get on net via both pc and iphone so i know the internet connection is fine, and iv pulled the iphones ip from the wifi connection settings my iphone is connected too...
any ideas???
