well, you would have to create an .app that calls "mobileipod -Movie" as far as I know ... maybe that helps you

I'm also looking for a way to split up the ipod app into music and video on 2.0+ firmware.

i was going to try to upload the ipod's Info.plist for MobileMusicPlayer.app which would do the switch for you, but since I used the app in cydia to combine them for me, I can't find where it backed up (if it even did) the old Info.plist. If i can get one, ill edit this post to attach it.

After reading this I took a look at the Info.plist and managed to create one that should seperate the music and video app for the iphone.
I attached two files:
Info.txt is the original Info.plist from MobileMusicPlayer (in case anyone needs it)
Seperated.txt is the new Info.plist that will give you a music and a video icon. Rename it to Info.plist and copy it into /Applications/MobileMusicPlayer.app/ to apply.
regards

I cba to give springboard dir but add a unified-ipod entry in n72ap.plist and make it false. Respring then it'll be split.

For iOS 4.X users, go to /System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app/NXXXP.plist and check if "<key>unified-ipod</key>" is there. Edit it so it is
<key>unified-ipod</key
<false/>
with them both aligned. If you have multiple of those plist files, it is in one of them. It is only tested by me on 4.X firmware.

Cool. I have only got an iPod 2G and only became "moderate hacker" at iOS 4 release. Just tested on 3.1.2 and it doesn't work.lol
And can anyone send me a stock General.plist file for 3.1.2+. I need it. I accidentally deleted it.Last edited by Amandeepsinghz; 05-03-2011 at 09:37 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

There's a tweak in Cydia called Springtomize, and I believe it can split the iPod app.
