in the directory /system/library/core services/systemversion.plist the plist contains some of the data found in about like fw version and build. You can edit it to have whatever including text but i recommend making a copy to restore to and not installing or doing much w/it modified cuz it might cause a conflict somewhere. But if you can simply change it to help w/ the dev progress on the fws then i hope it helps! ^_^
