Hello!

I would like to change my carriers name on FW 2.0 like MIM does it on 1.1.4 but can't find the sprinboard.plist under ~/Library/Preferences/Springboard.plist.

Any suggestions?

I have the same issue. Mine now says AT&T after I did a restore. I am running 2.0 and have no MIM to change it back to TMOBILE

I used iphonebrowser and manually changed my carrier logo, i have AT&T and the standard one is ugly, as long as you have the proper icons it works fine, used windows btw

For some reason I did not have this problem. After I pawned and did a restore from backup I got my Tmobile again without having to SSh in and modify any files.

But I have a prepaid card from my provider and the text string is to long.

Go to /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/

Copy com.apple.springboard.plist to your computer

Use this page Convert Apple Property list from binary to text XML to convert it to an editable format

Open the new file and add this line

<key>SBFakeCarrier</key>
<string>Your TEXT HERE</string>

Then save it as "com.apple.springboard.plist" and copy it back to your Iphone.

the only thing with this is that you cant do an image only test
and you cant with the plist either

but anyways I just realized that this is not was I was looking for
in 1.1.4 and back, i used to modify the springboard on the loopOperatortoBeginning key to rather than change the carrier, make the font size smaller so It would fit the carrier instead of scrolling and then showing part of it

It tried that solution but it makes screen to freeze

any advice????

also before (1.1.4) my carrier used to be ENTEL PCS, but now after the switch it shows CL ENTEL PCS

is it possible to insert an image for the BANNER (over the time)... Like is done with the Carrier Image where you make a .png file and ssh it in. I would like to do this with the BANNER Image now.. Where is the file located?

yes you can, i just updated to 2.0.1 and im searching for it now where the file is located, I forgot where it was from before. Its in a new spot now and is very easy to change. let me find it and ill post it

ok i got it now, System/Library/Carrier Bundles/ATT_US.bundle thats for att users if your on something else just find that, once you go into ATT_US.bundle just create one for Default_CARRIER_ATT.png and FSO_CARRIER_ATT.png

i forgot the dimensions, just search google for them or test it yourself.

what I used are 16 pixels height and width between 79 - 115 pixels

heres my files i edited and also included are the backup files...
