unlock/battery timer

Does anybody know how to "extend" the duration of the display when screen is showing the main battery charging. Where it says to slide and gives you about 4 secs to slide , then goes black, similar to the unlock screen? would like to leave those screens open and viewable while on the charging dock
anybody?
