Changing ipod application name in 1.1.2

ok, the localizedapplicationnames.strings does not work for mobileipod. i just want the text to go away, but i do NOT want to install summerboard. it works for all the other apps, EXCEPT ipod. i tried eidting the UIRoleDisplay.strings file there, but that doesn't do anything either. help please?

May I ask WHY you don't want to use SummerBoard?

Summerboard runs pretty smooth on my 1.1.2.....I'd suggest you to install it.

Hey guys, I just got an iphone unlocked, jailbroken etc on 1.1.2, i don't know if it has summerboard or not, currently i can switch the screen left and right for my extra icons, and it shows 2 white dots at the bottom to show which screen I am on, is this just a new feature of 1.1.2? And does summerboard work on 1.1.2 if i try to install it?

I'll direct my other questions into a seperat threade.

So... I can't change the camera, maps, photos or iPod by editing the file. I got all the rest working fine. How did you get to hide those labels?

Ok. i figured out how to change it all except for maps. I edited my UIRoleDisplayNames.strings within the mobilemusicplayer.app and the mobileslideshow.app
