Help with making .pngs

is there a way to copy all the important directories to my desktop in os x i tried the terminal command $ cp /System/Library/CoreServices but it did not work and the backups of the Application Folder and SpringBoard.app in the downloads section of this site do not let me see the .png files, it says they are corrupt or missing and thats exactly what i need. I basically want to have the original .pngs from the iphone so i can start making new ones.

Check the Wiki, there is a page explaining how to fix the images.

i found the wiki but the link is down...

if anyone has a full set of converted .png's please let me know, im trying to make a full theme!

i want to change all the buttons!
