unlocked iphone can't receive sms's from numbers with less than 6 digits or from non numerical sources. I am sure there is an apple script somewhere to fix this issue similar to fixing the international caller identification.
Can anyone help on this issue.

i have no problem receiving sms from 4 and 5 digits phone number. these are banks' or my carrier's SMS

i Have the same problem i cant riceve the SMS from my Bank and from Provider am using it in Dubai and this is the only think that i hate in my Iphone is there any solution for it or any way how to fix it

what did u guys enter to replace the format in ABFormat???

when i check plist file, my country's entry has 3 format
XXXXXXXX
+65 XXXXXXXX
001 $

so i used all three format to replace the entry in 'us'. i dunno wha'ts the last one '001 $' is for.... maybe it for 3 digits or more?

Thank you Revan for your solution. However my problem is only with non numerical sms and with sms that are coming from service companies such as your bank, service provider, etc...does your solution fix this problem?

I have exactly the same problem - I'm in Australia and my carrier sends me voicemail reminders, my bank sends me security sms's.

Each of these come in as +61 xxx xxx xxx and the + means the iphone doesnt receive them. Does this fix solve this problem?

SO is there a solution yet? My bank has a security thing where when I send money to another account for the first time I have to enter a code sent to me by SMS and I cannot receive these sms's on my iphone....

Getting very annoying to have to switch my sim card to my old phone whenever I buy something off ebay which doesn't have paypal...

I have the same also, i am on 1.1.1 and cannot receive sms from a sender like "800ADDC". Actually, i receive the SMS, but it shows from "800" and with a single garbled character and a date of July 2000.

I've got the same problem receiving sms from web-sites etc

Does the solution work for 1.1.1 firmware, I've downloaded bbupdater and installed into /usr/bin on iphone

Where do I get the eep and fls files for 1.1.1 (they don't exist on phone or in downloaded 1.1.1 firmware )
