A package title "BTStack" was released on the Bigboss repo earlier today. The package claims to allow all bluetooth features to function on the iPhone 3G, 3GS, and iPT 2&3G's. I've tested it on my Wii and that works fine...is there anyway I could get this to work for iBluetooth? Or any possibility the developers of iBluetooths may someday release an update?

Is there a way to create Folders in Outlook on iPhone?

I hope I'm in the right place. I have iPhone 3G 3.1.2 firmware. I just ran Blackrain & snow. I've always been annoyed that the Outlook mail feature on my phone is really basic & not very user friendly. As a result I rarely have my mail pushed to my cell. It seems after I got my 2 work email accounts up & running on my phone the messages come through fine, but there is no ways to:
-File mail into multiple folders.
-Create new permanent Folders.
-Create rules or filters.

I pretty much have : Inbox, Sent & Trash.
I used a nice 3rd party app Ibis mail & it has a great full featured email system. But like all apps every time I update firmware I lose it & the setting. My brother got a 3GS about 3 months ago. His iphone Outlook has a lot of different folders ect..

-Did I set up my iphone Outlook wrong at 1st?
-Is the 3GS use of Outlook that much better than 3G?
-Are there any ways to enhance my iphone Outlook features/ service on my cell?

Boot iPhone 3GS in verbose mode?

We used to be able to prior to the 3G by typing a simple command in Terminal "nvram boot-args="-v"

Seems this does not work anymore.

I just like the look of the phone booting in verbose mode and would like to have this back.

iPhone locking up after swap file plist mod

After placing the plist on the phone I noticed the avalible memory increased, sits at roughly 40-50mb free at idle. But the phone will lockup when I use SBsettings to clear the memory. Is this a common problem? What can be done to fix it? If anything.

3GS Tethering problems (No tether option)

I have searched for a solution for two hours with no success so I have to ask... I want to tether but no matter what I try I don't have the option to turn it on. How can I fix this?

I have a week 41 3GS, Jailbroken with Blackra1n RC3 (non tethered jailbreak. I got lucky.) Not unlocked, 3.1.2 firmware, Carrier AT&T 5.6, Modem firmware 5.11.7.

I have tried all the profiles I could find, BenM, Appleguru and that other one. I tried the iPhone-Notes patch. I didn't try the Sinful one because I didn't see the point and it makes me nervous.

I always rebooted, tried reseting the network setting and never found success.

Please help.

appstore icons size locked?

hello, im having a problem resizing my "appstore" icons .they appear locked so i cant scale them any larger than a preset size?homescreen apps and webclips seem to have no restrictions at all.ive made a webclip take up half the springboard:). is their a way to edit these apps:confused:(btw ive edited the AppIconMask, AppIconOverlay,and AppIconShadow png files with successO_O)3g/3.12,ssh,gimp 2.6,iphone shop.any feedback would be appreciated.......thnx in advance,gmo

HTML Signature in Mail App - How To in Windows?

There's a bunch of how-to blog posts scattered throughout the web with instructions on how to create HTML / CSS Signatures in the Mobile Mail app.

Has anyone been able to perform this track successfully from a Windows OS? It simply does NOT seem to want to work for me.

Custom Firmware File

I am running Windows. Is there some way to create an image of my current iPhone and turn it into a custom firmware file?

I restore my iPhone many times during the day to test various things, such as a new method developed for creating multiple unquie certs.

But majority of my time is being wasted installing various apps such as OpenSSH, since cydia takes forever to load.

Basically is there some way to create an firmware file with few important apps already installed such as Cydia, iFile, OpenSSH, MobileTerminal, etc...

Carrier Bundle Signing

I am trying to get my carrier logo to show up on my status bar so I can change it. After much searching I found a carrier bundle for my carrier, VN_MOBIFONE. I then read that after 3.0 all carrier bundles have to be signed by Apple to work. I tried signing my carrier bundle using Link Identity Editor, but still no carrier logo showing up.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Backingup/Restoring sms.db Help Please!!! Urgent

Before I restored my iPhone, I made sure to back up the sms.db (all my text messages) file so I can restore it later. I was NOT updating my iPhone to a new firmware, I was just restoring my iPhone to 3.1.2.

My basic method of restoring sms.db is that I just replace sms.db file with my backed up one. But the problem that occurs is when I write a txt and when I tap on "Send", the program crashes and doesn't let me send/receive any text.

Once thing I noticed on a freshly restored iPhone is that the permission of the sms.db file is 0644. So what I did was, when I replaced it with my backed sms.db file, I changed the permission to 0777 so it would stop crashing on me.

The idea above worked perfectly fine. But I noticed adverse effect on my phone. Whenever I am txting now, the keyboard starts acting weird. When I am typing the keys are very off... For example if I type the letter "W" it going to type "Q". Not only, sometimes I experience "stick keys". It is so bad, I can't txt at all...

So what could be causing this problem and what is the "proper" way of restoring a backed up sms.db?

[Request] iapd patch for generic tv cables for 3.1.2

i have tried using the iapd that was patched for 3.1, and when i connect the generic cable my iphone doesnt show the annoying popup, and i can hear the music and the videos in my tv, but i cant see them, i have tried tvout and screen splitr.

any solution for this? i have searched around first 6 pages of google, hack forums, and nothing.
i want to see my tv series that i have on my iphone in my tv :( and i dont want to pay 50$ for an original apple cable.

[Project] Native Video Recording for iPhone 2G/3G

This thread will only be about serious modding that was done to prevail video recording on the iPhone 2G/3G...possible even the iPod Touches...

The most recent status on this project was done on Firmware 3.1.2...3.0 has issues (or..no one has really tried it yet on 3.0)

Now then...Lets Start!
================================================== =========
--CAMERA MOD--

Step 1)

(a) SSH into your iPhone and navigate to the following directory:
/System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app

(b) Find the following plist files: M68AP.plist & N82AP.plist

(c) Now backup those files by renaming them..and adding "bk..bck..etc" into its extention to save it (as backup) [Example: M68AP.bkplist]

Step 2)

(a) Download the attached RAR file and navigate to the folder labeled "SpringBoard.app" within it

(b) Now add the plists {3} within the archive to where the backed up plists are...(M68AP.plist,N82AP.plist,N88.plist)

(c) Respring/Reboot your iPhone for changes to take effect [You can check by going to "Settings" on your iPhone after its rebooted/respringed and you should see "3GS" features..Nike-iPod,Voice Control, Accessibility,etc. within Settings]

{NOTE: Some have reported their iPhone's turning into an iPod with icons disappearing...if this happens then instead of using the supplied plists files..simply open your current one and mod accordingly to the plists in the archive--and all should be good!}

Step 3)

(a) SSH into iPhone (if not already) and navigate to the following directory:
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Celestial.framework

(b) Within the Celestial.framework folder, you should see a list of folders and plists, and the ones important to us are the following folders:
M68,N82

(c) In those two folders there should be a plist called, "AVCapture", which again backup

(d) Within the archive you have already downloaded, there should be another folder called "Celestial.framework"

(e) Copy the "AVCapture" plist file from the archive into the folders where you created the backup of AVCapture {M68 & N82}

(f) Also within the "Celestial.framework" folder in the archive, you should see a folder called "N88"

(g) Copy the entire folder itself to the following directory:
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Celestial.framework
[And now there should be M68,N82,N88 in the Celestial folder..my phone also has N45,N72 & N80 as well]

Step 4)
**This has done nothing as of yet**

(a) Within the archive, there should be another labeled "Video Decoders and Encoders"

(b) In that archive will be three decoders & 3 encoders, which you will copy over to the following directory:
/System/Library/VideoDecoders & /System/Library/VideoEncoders

.....After this, you will see when you start Camera on your iPhone that the switch from choosing camera-video camera will appear at the bottom right corner, and the shutter will also open.
However, once you switch to the video-camera, the "camera image" itself will freeze but you'll be able to press the record button and it will turn red..and you will notice the timestamp appear at the top right corner.....
Furthermore, when you press Record again, it will stop and then when you go through the photo library and click on Videos {tab} at the top, you will see your video and hear Audio as well..but as of yet no video

--SIGNING PROCESS--

Step 1) Go to Cydia..and search for "MobileTerminal"..and install it.

Step 2) Now search for "ldid" {Link Identity Editor}..and install that as well

Step 3) Open up MobileTerminal....

Step 4) Type in: ldid -s whatever
(a) You should get an error other than an "unknown" command
(b) If you do...type this: apt-get ldid

Step 5) Now change the directory to the directory of the file that needs to be signed..[Example: I will use PhotoLibrary as example]
(a) This can be done by typing:
cd /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/PhotoLibrary.framework

Step 6) Now that the directory has been changed..type the following:
ldid -s *file* {Replacing *file* with the binary that needs to be signed} [Example: ldid -s PhotoLibrary]

Step 7) Now that its been signed..continue doing it for other binaries that need to be signed or simply type:
killall SpringBoard
This will cause your iPhone to respring..and your done!

--AVCapture.plist FILE FEATURES--

I Think the main problem is the values within the AVCapture..because since we simply copied it from a 3GS it (obviously) has 3GS-specific values..which we need to change so the 2G/3G would work with it.....

--DECRYPTING iPHONE FIRMWARES--

Step 1) Download the necessary firmware you wish to decrypt..(i really dont want to post links but im sure you can find it easily)

Step 2) Download the attached archive, "Vfdecrypt.rar"

Step 3) Extract the contents of the archive into a new folder (created anywhere you would like...)

Step 4) Now, to extract the contents of the firmware:
(a) Rename the firmware by changing its extension from ".ipsw" to ".zip"
(b) Now open up the newly created zip archive and copy all the contents within it to the new folder which you just created in step 3

Step 5) If all is good and followed well...then now go into the folder and look for "cmd" (Command Prompt)...and now copy and paste the following code into the command prompt:

*NOTE: I used the 3GS 3.1 filesystem...as 3.1 and 3.1.2 is the same..just like 3.0 and 3.0.1

vfdecrypt -i 018-5344-086.dmg -o dec3.1.dmg -k B9CD10DD88AB615C1963E8AA04950B12DD64E0E5B11EA63C79A02AF6DB62334C710D21DA

And finally...to open the newly created dmg file you will need to download a program called HFSExplorer...which is free ;)

--CHANGING CPU SUBTYPES OF BINARIES--

For those who want to know how to edit binaries of the Apple iPhone filesystem...so that instead of it being arm9-compatible [iPhone 3GS] it can be arm6-compatible [iPhone 2G/3G]...you may want to read this!

In order for this to be done...one needs three skills.....
1) Knowledge...in using a hex-editor and knowing what its capable of doing
2) Patience...in finding certain values and understanding them
3) Hex Editor...program itself which you will use to test your knowledge & patience

All right..enough of the pep-talk, lets get straight to business shall we!

Step 1) Download a well-known Hex Editor which you may be comfortable using

Step 2) Open the "binary" in the editor which you wish to change from 3GS to 2G/3G compatibility

(a) Once the file is opened, you will noticed numbers + letters on your screen (this is what hex codes are)

Step 3) In the first line where the codes start.."most" of the binaries of the iPhone will look like this:

(a) It is the "09" which needs to be changed from 09 to "06"
(b) Now simply save the newly edited binary as a different name (if you dont want it to replace the original one and keep it as a backup--which is a good idea) or simply replace the old one (if you dont care about backing up and saving originals)

Step 4) Your all set! This is the "simplest" way of changing cpu subtypes of most iPhone binaries

**NOTE: Do not forget to sign your files (how to do it is mentioned above) as MOST binaries will crash due to failure in looking for SHA1 verification hashes..***

How to change camera roll starting number?

Opening SMS

Since sbsettings is set up like that, i was wondering if anyone knows how to change what sliding the status bar does, like to make sliding pull up text messages or some other app?

There was an issue with cydelete deleting the actual web.app when deleting webapp icons from springboard which has now aparently been fixed. Problem is i cant add anymore webapp icons as its deleted the web.app application.

Does anyone know how i can get this back or if someone could post their web.app so i could ssh it to my phone that would be grrreat!

Calander alert length tweak/mod?

For example, it just has the option of being reminded after 1 hour, 2 hours it jumps to 1 day. Is there any way to be reminded after 3,4,5 etc hours? On my old ppc you could just type in a number of minutes/hours/days as you wanted...

I have seen this problem many times. The thing is my school has a WiFi with proxy authentication, and none of the apps except for Safari and Mail work. The thing is that I found a solution, but it doesn't really work for me, maybe you can help fix it.

It was said that I should set my proxy trough Terminal

As my proxy requires authentication, I found that it should go as

The Terminal gives me no error, but no confirmation either. Apps still don't work. Oh, and also, ping command does somethign weird - for example, if I enter

it shows

trying to connect to http://modmyi.com.r1g.edu.lv

r1g.edu.lv is my schools domain name. How and why is that happening?

Need help with a calendar lockscreen

Been looking for a good calendar theme for the lock screen. Don't want it on my homepage since I have 3 blank icons to show the large time and date in the center. I found a theme I like but can't find the package/files to set it up. Does anyone have it? Prefer if it looks like this one. Not looking for the one that shows the events. Thanks in advanced! Doesn't have to display weather, mails, sms, but if it does no biggie.

weather app question

i posted this in another area yesterday but looking at this section, i'm thinking i should have tried here. so let me appologize for the double post now.
here is what i posted:

i was trying out lockscreen info for a couple of days. it showed my weather as constantly the same temperature all day and night. 43 degrees F and slightly drizzly. also the icon badge for my weather icon showed 43 degrees. even when the weather app was showing totally different. i never got it configured right so i deleted lockscreen info. but the icon badge remained. i tried to reinstall the weather info app but my icon badge still continued to show 43 constantly. so i have now completely deleted the live weather icon app. and yet STILL i have an icon badge saying it's 43. any ideas on how i can get rid of it? here's a screeny of what i'm talking about.

Two Exchange Accounts (ActiveSync)

I do not know if this is limited to any number of Exchange ActiveSync push accounts but I currently have two working side-by-side. Here is how:

Setup one Exchange account on your phone.

SSH into your phone and edit /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.apple.accountsettings.plist

Look for the section that covers your current Exchange account, copy it and paste it below the current entry. Edit the value of ASAccountEmailAddress and Identifier. Save the file.

Go to Settings and under mail accounts you will see one with the value you assigned to ASAAccountEmailAddress, edit this account and change the server, username, and password to your second Exchange server.

Here is a copy of my files will only the email addresses and server names changed.
